Video Shoot

- POSTED ON: Mar 09, 2011

I am following through with the plan to
make informative and entertaining Videos for this site
by taking the steps that are necessary to accomplish that.

My new equipment arrived on Friday,
and I spent the weekend familiarizing myself with it.
This process included learning how to use a Mac computer,
and until last Friday afternoon, I’d never touched one.

Previously, my computer experience has all been with Windows.
I also am now learning how to operate a movie-camera…
which I now understand, is an old fashioned term,
and “camcorder” is the operative word.

I’m new to the Mac computer, and I’m also new at video recording.
As I shared previously, I seldom even remember to take photos on vacation,
and I can barely operate the DVR installed by the cable company.
But I can still learn, and I’m working hard to do so.

Yesterday was my tutorial on making videos.
My son spent the day at my house providing me with
hands-on instructions for each long and complicated step

The cooking video posted below is the result of that process.

This was great! Thanks for the step by step. I made one today with chocolate Designer Whey, 1 T of cream (per your video), 2 splenda packets and 2 T water (since I didn't have any SF syrup). I ate it while drinking a diet coke so that it wasn't so dry and it was extremely filling! I like eating the protein powder better than drinking it as well. It's great to have a "cupcake" while dieting. :-) Oh, and I sprayed some "I Can't Believe It's Not Butter" spray on the top to add a butter flavor. It was delicious! Thanks for the video!

Great video, Phyllis! Loved your presentation. Epecially got a big smile out of how you ended it - so cute! Definitely will have to make these as an alternative to my morning soy milk shake. Also, appreciate Rebecca's "...Not Butter" spray suggestion.

Thanks Selkie. I did that video with my son standing by teaching me, and TODAY, I did another all by myself with no one else here. I'm a bit more subdued in today's video because I had to shoot it 5 times due to various technical errors I made, and since the final was my 5th time, I wasn't as enthusiastic as normal. I now have a lot of protein cookies in my freezer, because I had to cook 6 separate times, but they will be good for the future. I still have to save today's video and then upload it to YouTube, so after that's done...I will have actually done a video all by myself.

A great video Phyllis so wonderful to see you <3 I also find the protein muffins a bit dry my solution is to spread 1 tbs of sugar free jam/jelly on the muffin (which I usually make w/the 3 tbs of syrup and no cream I am looking forward to trying one made w/cream). I like Selkie's idea also :) I'm so looking forward to more videos. I am off now to start reading your past blogs love the archive <3

Kimberly, I'm pleased to see you here. This can be a good way for us to stay in touch. I think my next recipe video will be those little oatmeal microwave "muffins". I'm sticking to very easy recipes until I get a little more familiar with the video making process.

I'll be looking forward to that video especially as it's been so long since I've made them that I could use an update ;) I can use more oatmeal recipes as I embark on my new whole foods diet :) Wishing you a wonderful day <3

Hi, Kimberly, I shot that video today, and got to eat one of my oatmeal microwave muffins for lunch. After I've completed all of the technical details that are involved in the process it will available for watching here on DietHobby..under Resources - Videos - Cooking Videos. My goal is to do a new recipe video each week. So far, it is quite a job for me to do one. Hopefully I'll get better at it over time.
