Calories from bread/tortillas do add up quickly. I eat them but in a thoughtful manner. I also do not consider them a staple of my diet anymore- more of a treat. Many foods that have been suggested as healthy now have an asterisck by it for me. They are healthy for me if they allow me to have the body/health that is optimal. Was talking to an increasing larger mother going to WW last night. Her daughter has ulcerative colietis, simial in some ways to Crohn's. Oatmeal/peanut butter (+who knows what else) is her favorite breakfast and what she thinks is healthy for her daughter. Probably is not the best choice for either one of them. Certainly isn't good for DS or me.

Yes, Karen, the calories and the carbs in bread/tortillas do add up quickly. I can also eat a LOT of food containing grains...whether refined or complex..very quickly. I love to eat bread and bread-like substances, but must carefully limit the amount I eat.
