Out-of-Sorts
- POSTED ON: Apr 30, 2012

I

t's Monday morning and I'm feeling out-of-sorts.
My weight is up today to a number that I find unacceptable,
and yet the only plan I have is to eat less and move more.

I'm having a very hard time making even the slightest commitment
to any particular food plan that limits or restricts what I eat.
For Today, the only thing I'm willing to do is to
record all my food, and work to limit my calories.

This may not be a great encouragement to others,
but it's my best for today … at least … for right this moment.

Part of my lifestyle is working to maintain my large weight-loss.
I'm now in my 7th year … which I've lived one-day-at-a-time.
Today is one more of those days.

I wish I knew NOW
- POSTED ON: Apr 24, 2012

I can still remember when I was young enough to Know-it-All.

Time changes us and our attitudes.
As we age, we learn more and more and more,
and the more we learn, the more we realize how little we know.

My online time as the YouTube Grandma continually reminds me of this fact,
and I sometimes find communicating with young people to be a bit challenging.

Making Lists
- POSTED ON: Apr 23, 2012

I use lists to organize my thoughts, my plans, my goals, and sometimes even my feelings.

When I feel overwhelmed by the way Life is unfolding around me, and the things
it seems like I have to do in response to that, just making a list seems to make me feel better.

In fact, sometimes making a list can take enough of the pressure off,
that I actually don't have to do anything else at all.

I've noticed that this seems to hold true for a lot of people who feel a need to diet.
For some, choosing a diet, buying a book, marking a starting weight,
seems to relive the inner pressure to diet enough,
that they actually don't have to work to FOLLOW that diet.
Their decision to diet seems to allow them to continue with their current eating behavior.

Just an observation.
