Gratitude

- POSTED ON: Oct 08, 2011

Gratitude is feeling or showing
an appreciation of kindness, of Thankfulness.

It is a way of recognizing
the importance of a source of pleasure.

Gratitude is an emotion that
expresses appreciation for what one has.
It is currently receiving a great deal of attention
as a facet of positive psychology.
Gratitude is what gets poured
into the glass to make it half full.

Studies show that gratitude
not only can be deliberately cultivated
but can increase levels of well-being and happiness
among those who do cultivate it.

In addition, grateful thinking
-- and especially expression of it to others –
is associated with increased levels
of energy, optimism, and empathy.

I am grateful to each one of you who participates here
by reading or commenting or watching a video.

 Thank You.

Hi Phyllis! I haven't had a chance yet to catch up on the posts you made while I was off-line but I did check out the posts on this page and chose this one to respond to because it means something to me. I would like to thank you and express my gratitude to you for all that you have done and meant to me through the years. I also would like to thank you for the time and effort you put into maintaining this blog for the positive and encouraging useful helpful and motivating thoughts you share :) I have allowed the stress in my life to become an excuse to give up all my healthy habits one of which is my daily gratitude journal. This post has inspired me to redevelop the habit of keeping a daily journal of those things for which I am grateful and that bring positivity into my life. Thank you <3 I've got a few hours while Steve is out to catch up on my on-line activities; I'm off to visit DietPower Challenge and then do some email and Facebook. And then I'm going to install Dietpower on Steve's computer :) 1st day of the rest of my life y'know ;) Wishing you an awesome day <3<3<3
