EXACTLY.........when all is said and done, it is our own acceptance. As a retiree, I have more time to look at my past, present and future. It is clearly important that we be okay with ourselves and don't worry about what others think. Those who truly love us will say the right words, show by deep feeling and little touches, connect themselves mentally, physically and spiritually to us and be happy we ARE still. My body is only a suitcase that holds ALL of me and what is inside is a lot more important than what the suitcase looks like. When I am gone, others will then realize what is missing. The little Fried Apple Pie recipe can be passed on and on but no person can make it taste like my Grandmother. When she passed, she took the special seasoning of her hands and her special love that made it so much tastier. I have decided that it is more important to be kind to myself and not worry about what others think or say. I am worth knowing and I love deeply even when I sometimes do not feel loved in return. Our Garden of Friends should include all no matter how rich or poor or status in life. If I can help someone, I am there doing it no matter. Here is a favorite quote that I try to live by. I expect to pass through this world but once. Any good, therefore, that I can do or any kindness I can show to any fellow creature, let me do it now. Let me not defer or neglect it for I shall not pass this way again. by Stephen Grellet
